International Myotonic Dystrophy Awareness Day
On September 15th, the global community recognises International Myotonic Dystrophy Awareness Day, an opportunity to raise awareness of myotonic dystrophy (DM) and its impact on individuals and families.
Myotonic dystrophy is a rare, inherited neuromuscular disease that affects muscle function and can impact multiple systems of the body. Greater awareness is essential to support earlier diagnosis, improve access to appropriate care and drive continued research into new treatments.
At TREAT-NMD, we are committed to supporting the global neuromuscular community and advancing better diagnosis, care and treatment for people living with conditions including myotonic dystrophy. Through collaboration between researchers, clinicians, patient organisations and industry, we can help drive meaningful progress for the DM community.
This International Myotonic Dystrophy Awareness Day, we stand with everyone affected by DM and those working to improve the future for people living with the condition.
