TREAT-NMD and Sarepta Therapeutics launched the first plain-language LGMD Family Guide last year to support people living with limb girdle muscular dystrophy (LGMD), their families, and non-specialist clinicians. The guide brings together insights from nine international clinical teams, each pairing a leading medical expert with a patient advocacy representative, and includes clear information about LGMD as a whole plus detailed sections on seven key subtypes (1D/D, 2A/R1, 2B/R2, 2D/R3, 2E/R4, 2I/R9, and 2L/R12).
The long-term aim is to build this into a comprehensive global resource covering all LGMD subtypes. To make sure families everywhere can access it, we are now expanding the project with a major translation effort.
We are therefore are actively looking for individuals, organisations or networks who can help translate the guide. Our first priority languages are:
• German
• French
• Arabic
• Hindi
• Bengali
• Mandarin Chinese
• Russian
If you or your organisation can help, or if you can connect us with someone who might then please contact education@treat-nmd.com. We will provide templates, guidance and everything needed to support the translation process.
